A historic moment for the European Surf Federation, which inaugurated its new headquarters in Lacanau on Saturday, with Laurent Peyrondet (Mayor of Lacanau ), Jean Luc Arassus (Pdt European Surfing Federation ) and Sylvie Lavergne (Adj. Sport) in the presence of representatives from 14 European countries.
For the ESF, the new headquarters will be an opportunity to promote surfing throughout Europe, with a sustainable and respectful approach to practice, inclusion, performance and training.
The 14 countries (out of 22 members) present in person and online, were also able to meet in the afternoon for the traditional annual general meeting in the Lacanau town hall.
The program included a review of the European bodyboard and longboard tour competitions, collaboration with the Euro Bodysurf Tour for 2025, and closer ties with the Euro Skim Tour .
One of ESF's priorities in the coming months will be to update its statutes, and to approach the @europeancommission in order to finance the various programs it wishes to develop.
Michael Lindberg ( @surfsupdanmark ) was re-elected to the ESF Executive Board.
@Gavin Mcrea ( @surfireland ) , Marco Mazzi (@Italiasurf) and Ricardo Bilbao ( Spain ) were co-opted.
Sunday was another studious day, with Megan Burns ( @isasurfing ) presenting the ISA's Athletes and Medical Commissions and giving the keys to their rapid development at European level.
Tiago Matos (ESF Tech.Direc.) then outlined the expectations of the technical commission, including the judges' section and the creation of new commissions.
The rest is coming soon!!!
