The European Surfing Federation (ESF) is proud to announce the start of the highly anticipated Euro Surf 2025, taking place from 18 to 25 July in Santa Cruz, Portugal, in the vibrant setting of the Ocean Spirit Festival.
This flagship event of European surfing will bring together national teams from across the continent, including Turkey and Latvia, the newest members of the European Surfing Federation, making their official debut at this continental championship.
Set against the powerful Atlantic waves of Santa Cruz, Euro Surf 2025 will see Europe’s best athletes compete in shortboard and longboard, men’s and women’s divisions. More than just a competition, Euro Surf is a celebration of national pride, team spirit, and sporting excellence.
“Representing your country in a team competition is a unique honour that strengthens not only camaraderie but also the visibility of surfing as a unifying sport across Europe,” says the ESF President, Jean Luc Arassus.
A Gateway to the World Stage
In an exciting development for 2025, the four finalists (men & women) in shortboard will receive all-expense-paid invitations to compete in the Surf City El Salvador ALAS Global Finals, held 17–23 November 2025 at Punta Mango Beach.
This initiative, supported by ALAS Global Tour and Surf City El Salvador, marks a historic collaboration between Europe, Latin America, and Asia, reinforcing intercontinental surfing ties in the new Olympic cycle.
“This opportunity represents a bridge between continents,” says Karin Sierralta, Chairman of the ALAS Global Tour, the PASA (Pan American Surfing Association) and vice-president of International Surfing Association-ISA. “We are proud to support this cultural and competitive exchange to elevate the level of international surfing.”
Karin Sierralta will be present throughout the competition to work on future collaboration with the ESF.
The European Surfing Federation would like to thank Surf City for inviting Europe's best athletes to this high-level international competition, which will strengthen relations between nations and enable them to compete at the highest level.
