The local riders claimed Open Men and Open Women titles, while Louka Zaninotto, Luana Dourado and David Valladares completed the list of champions at La CĂ­cer

The 2026 European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) Gran Canaria Pro crowned its champions following an exciting finals day at La Cícer, Gran Canaria. Local favourite Armide Soliveres (Open Men) and Tenerife’s Teresa Miranda (Open Women) led the winners, alongside France’s Louka Zaninotto (Junior Boys), Portugal’s Luana Dourado (Junior Girls) and Venezuela’s David Valladares (Dropknee).

Soliveres delivered a dominant performance in the Open Men’s final, posting the highest combined score of the day with 14.50 points. Morocco’s Anas Haddar finished second, followed by Portugal’s Vicente Campos and Mexico’s Ilan Chouard, with two junior riders reaching the final in the open division.

Miranda successfully defended her Open Women’s title with two outstanding manoeuvres to secure victory ahead of Portugal’s Teresa Padrela. Junior riders Luana Dourado and Alice Teotonio completed the podium, adding further success to their performances across the event.

The Junior Boys final delivered a dramatic finish. Gran Canaria’s Alberto Pérez, the reigning junior world runner-up and the only Spanish rider in the final, battled France’s Yohann Bachelard for the lead. However, Louka Zaninotto snatched victory with a last-second wave, leaving Pérez in second place. Portugal’s Vicente Campos also featured among the finalists.

In the Junior Girls division, introduced to the event this year, reigning junior world champion Luana Dourado claimed the title after a close contest with compatriot Carolina Dias, who finished second. Sofia Pinheiro and Alice Teotonio completed the top four.

The Dropknee final provided another highlight, with Venezuela’s David Valladares taking the win with a combined score of 14.00 points. Réunion Island’s Fabien Thazar finished second, ahead of the local riders Samuel Figueroa and Víctor Regalado.

European titles confirmed

Following the results in Gran Canaria, Luana Dourado secured the 2026 European Junior Girls title, Vicente Campos claimed the European Junior Boys crown, and Fabien Thazar was confirmed as the 2026 European Dropknee champion, with one event remaining on the European Tour of Bodyboard calendar.

The ETB Gran Canaria Pro once again showcased the depth of European bodyboarding talent, with close finals, international representation and outstanding performances at La CĂ­cer.

The European Tour of Bodyboard will now head to Mehdia, Morocco, for the final stop of the 2026 season. Registrations are already open, with riders invited to secure their place for the season finale.

Portugal’s Luana Dourado reaffirmed her status as a leading force on the European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) at the Socorro Classic, successfully defending her Open Women’s title while also claiming victory in the Pro Junior division.

In the Open Men’s final, fellow Portuguese rider Ricardo Rosmaninho took the win with 12.50 points. France’s Amaury Lavernhe, who is based in Gran Canaria, finished second with 10.60, while local rider Álvaro Padrón claimed third place with 10.27.

Dourado topped the Open Women’s podium with 14.83 points, narrowly ahead of Tenerife’s Padilla, who scored 14.64. Portugal’s Teresa Padrela completed the podium in third with 12.54.

The Dropknee final delivered a thrilling finish, with Fabien Thazar securing victory in a tiebreaker to defend his title from the previous edition. Tenerife riders Regalado and Valladares finished third and fourth, scoring 6.75 and 4.95 points respectively.

In the Men’s Pro Junior division, Portugal’s Vicente Campos claimed victory with 14.30 points, ahead of Bello on 13.90. Nóbrega finished third with 11.05, followed by Pedro Areias with 8.85.

Dourado also topped the Junior Women’s podium, joined by fellow finalists Carolina Dias and Teotonio.

The European Tour of Bodyboard continues tomorrow with the ETB Gran Canaria Pro, the penultimate stop of the 2026 season. With the European titles on the line, several riders will have the opportunity to secure their championship crowns in Gran Canaria, including Luana Dourado in Junior Girls, Vicente Campos in Junior Boys and Fabien Thazar in Dropknee. All eyes will be on La CĂ­cer as the battle for the European titles reaches a decisive stage.

The European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) officially kicked off its 2026 season this week at the Santa Cruz Ocean Spirit Festival, with Portugal's top riders delivering outstanding performances across all four competition categories.

As the opening stop of this year's European circuit, the event brought together riders from across Europe to compete in Open Men, Open Women, Pro Junior Boys and Pro Junior Girls, reaffirming Santa Cruz's status as one of Europe's premier bodyboarding destinations.

The European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) is set to officially launch its 2026 season from 20–22 July with ETB Santa Cruz, held as part of Portugal's renowned Ocean Spirit Festival.

While the 2026 calendar began earlier this year with the successful Boogie Chicks event—an exclusive women's competition—ETB Santa Cruz marks the first full tour stop featuring all official divisions. Europe's top bodyboarders will compete across the Open Men, Open Women, Junior Men and Junior Women categories as the race for the 2026 European titles gets underway.

The 2026 European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) kicked off with Boogie Chicks, a women-only event that once again highlighted the growth and strength of female bodyboarding in Europe.

The competition brought together more than 200 athletes, confirming the event as one of the largest celebrations of women’s bodyboarding on the continent. Across both Open and Junior divisions, riders delivered outstanding performances in a day marked by high-level competition and progression.

This year, the grand finale of the European Tour of Bodyboard will take place in a little piece of paradise in southern Morocco, nestled between the waters of the Atlantic and the sands of the Sahara: the city of Dakhla. 😎

The right-hand break at Foum El Bouir, with its mix of reef and sand, will provide a superb playground for watching the best male and female riders battle it out for the title of European bodyboarding champion.
