The European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) officially kicked off its 2026 season this week at the Santa Cruz Ocean Spirit Festival, with Portugal's top riders delivering outstanding performances across all four competition categories.
As the opening stop of this year's European circuit, the event brought together riders from across Europe to compete in Open Men, Open Women, Pro Junior Boys and Pro Junior Girls, reaffirming Santa Cruz's status as one of Europe's premier bodyboarding destinations.
The European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) is set to officially launch its 2026 season from 20–22 July with ETB Santa Cruz, held as part of Portugal's renowned Ocean Spirit Festival.
While the 2026 calendar began earlier this year with the successful Boogie Chicks event—an exclusive women's competition—ETB Santa Cruz marks the first full tour stop featuring all official divisions. Europe's top bodyboarders will compete across the Open Men, Open Women, Junior Men and Junior Women categories as the race for the 2026 European titles gets underway.
Hosted on the world-class waves of Santa Cruz, Portugal, the event will once again be integrated into the Ocean Spirit Festival, bringing together elite competition alongside one of Europe's most established action sports festivals.

Following the opening women's-only event of the season, ETB Santa Cruz signals the beginning of the full European Tour campaign, with the continent's best bodyboarders set to battle for valuable ranking points in one of Portugal's premier surf destinations.
The 2026 European Tour of Bodyboard (ETB) kicked off with Boogie Chicks, a women-only event that once again highlighted the growth and strength of female bodyboarding in Europe.
The competition brought together more than 200 athletes, confirming the event as one of the largest celebrations of women’s bodyboarding on the continent. Across both Open and Junior divisions, riders delivered outstanding performances in a day marked by high-level competition and progression.
This year, the grand finale of the European Tour of Bodyboard will take place in a little piece of paradise in southern Morocco, nestled between the waters of the Atlantic and the sands of the Sahara: the city of Dakhla. 😎
The right-hand break at Foum El Bouir, with its mix of reef and sand, will provide a superb playground for watching the best male and female riders battle it out for the title of European bodyboarding champion.
Portuguese rider Joel Rodrígues and Canary Islander Teresa Padilla claimed the top honors in the Open and Women’s divisions, while Unax Pascual and David Valladares took the Junior and Dropknee titles, respectively, after an unforgettable weekend of world-class bodyboarding in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
