The beautifull town of Peniche set the stage for Spain to shine.
World and European Champions France were unable to fend off a very strong Spanish team and, as they went shoulder to shoulder over the finish line, in the end the overall team trophy was lifted by the Spaniards.
Curiously, or not (if you have been keeping tabs on the Spanish SUP scene), this year's European champions were lifted to victory on the back of an enormous display of strength and ability by their youngsters. Every single under 18 in the Spanish team got a medal. 3 Gold, 3 Silver and 2 Bronze! Talk about the prospects of a bright future...
A special mention and congratulations to young Italian surfer Cecilia Pampinella who managed to snatch gold in all divisions she participated in. Sprint, Technical and Long distance races. Going home with 3 gold medals is an amazing feat!
