Bouznika delivers big wins for Douwe Robroch and Sofie Rasmussen in ETL’s second stage
Just one week after the European Tour of Longboard kicked off in Sagres, Europe’s top longboarders touched down in Bouznika Cove. The second stop of the tour — hosted by the Moroccan Surf Federation — brought a weekend of flowing waves and unforgettable vibes in a truly stunning setting.
Among the boys, Douwe Robroch emerged victorious in the OPEN event, surpassing portuguese rider Antonio Dantas. In the women’s division, the victory went to Thilde Sofie Rasmussen, finished ahead of France’s Justine Dupont.
The highlight of the Junior competition was Spanish rider Julieta Rodríguez-Villamil, who demonstrated remarkable talent and determination to take the win among the youngest participants.
Notably, the event saw strong participation from Moroccan riders, who impressed with their solid performances and advanced as far as the quarterfinals, underlining the growing level of competition in Morocco.
Final Results – ETL Bouznika:
LONGBOARD OPEN MEN 🥇 Douwe Robroch (NED) 🥈 Antonio Dantas (POR) 🥉 Louis Marchiset (FRA) 🥉 Martin Coret (FRA) |
LONGBOARD OPEN WOMEN 🥇 Thilde Sofie Rasmussen (DEN) 🥈 Justine Dupont (FRA) 🥉 Emily Currie (ENG) 🥉 Lucy Small (AUS) |
LONGBOARD JUNIOR GIRLS 🥇 Julieta Rodríguez-Villamil (ESP) 🥈 Lola Bleakley (ENG) 🥉 Mare Robroch (NED) |
Frenchman Martin Coret now leads the overall standings after 2 stages. He will have to confirm his first 2 finishes on the Salinas stage in July if he hopes to win the title at the end of the season.
He will have his work cut out against Antonio Dantas, the Portuguese rider, and above all the Dutch rider, Douwe Robroch, winner in Morocco.
In the girls' category, it was Denmark's Thilde Sofie Rasmussen who took the lead, but with a narrow advantage over her pursuers, Australian Lucy Small and French rider Justine Dupont (1 point separating them), but the 2 British riders, junior Lola Beakley and Emilie Curry, will also have to be reckoned with.
In the junior boys' category, the overall classification remains on hold, with only one stage counted for them.
In the girls' category, Spain's Julieta Rodríguez-Villamil took the lead with her victory in Bouznika. But the Netherlands' Mare Robroch and Britain's Lola Beakley are ready to challenge her.
We'll also have to keep an eye on Ginger Caimi, the 12-year-old Italian longboard prodigy (16th at the last ISA Worlds) who pulled off a double on the first stage in Vila Do Bispo, winning both the Open and Junior Women's categories.Hakim Elfanne / FRMS
